The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the owner of a found urn containing ashes.

On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at just after 1:00 p.m., members of the Lambton County OPP attended a residence in the 600 block of St. Clair Parkway, St. Clair Township regarding found property.

Officers attended location and were handed a small urn recovered from the St. Clair River.

The only identifying marking on the urn is a tag stating Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Ohio. Attempts to locate and identify the owner of the urn have been unsuccessful.

The OPP is now asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the owners of the urn to return these remains back to their loved ones.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact the Lambton OPP at 519-882-1011 or 1-888-310-1122.
