π¨ FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED IN DISAPPEARANCE OF KITCHENER RESIDENT AFTER HOUSE FIRE
Police in Kitchener, Ontario are investigating a suspicious house fire on Major Street that has now been ruled an arson. Authorities have also confirmed that the resident of the affected unit, 25-year-old Eli Wood, remains missing and that foul play is suspected in their disappearance.
Emergency crews responded to the fire shortly after 6 a.m. on October 19. When firefighters arrived, they found the rear unit of the residence fully engulfed. Although no injuries were reported, the blaze caused significant property damage.
π Missing Resident Identified
The day after the fire, the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) issued a missing person alert for Eli Wood. Investigators later confirmed that Wood lived in the unit that caught fire. Despite extensive efforts, police have not located Wood and now believe that foul play may have been involved in their disappearance.

The case is being jointly investigated by the WRPS General Investigations Unit and Major Crime Unit, in partnership with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal. Police continue to treat both the fire and disappearance as suspicious.
