🚨 Family of Missing Boy Darius Macdougall Vows to Continue Search in Crowsnest Pass, Alberta
The family of six-year-old Darius Macdougall, missing for more than a week, says they will not rest until he is brought home. The boy disappeared while camping with family in the Crowsnest Pass area of southern Alberta.
In a statement released this week, the family expressed their gratitude to searchers for their tireless dedication, adding that community support has given them strength and hope through this difficult time.
Darius was reported missing after he failed to return from a walk with six young relatives near the family’s campsite. His disappearance sparked a massive search effort that has stretched into its second week, with hundreds of volunteers and RCMP-led teams combing the mountainous terrain.
Initially, RCMP said they were optimistic about finding the boy alive. However, they later cautioned that his chances of survival had dropped to less than five per cent. Despite this, search efforts continue daily.
RCMP Cpl. Gina Slaney said crews are now focusing on “higher probability” areas, including sections that have already been searched, and ground crews are following up on tips received from the public.
