As the whereabouts of Trinity Poil remains unknown after nearly six weeks, her family is praying for her safe return in time to celebrate her 17th birthday on March 28.
New contact information has also been provided by those who run the Missing: Trinity Poil Facebook page, which has close to 2,400 members. Those who may have information about Trinity’s disappearance are asked to contact the Garrison Petawawa Military Police at 613-687-5511 ext. 5444 or 1-866-KID-TIPS, which is a line where callers can remain anonymous. People are asked not to call the Ontario Provincial Police. The 16-year-old was last seen Feb. 13 and is believed to have left her house in the area of Cleve Avenue and Paardeburg Boulevard in the North Town Site around 4 a.m.
She is described as six feet-one inch tall and approximately 240 pounds with medium length brown hair and hazel eyes. She took no personal possessions (phone, laptop, medication, clothes, bank card, cash, etc). She was last seen wearing a black jacket with purple lining, a black toque with cat ears and grey boots with fur trim.
Family spokeswoman Tracey Serviss also shared some additional information on the page in the March 21 post.
“Her parents, her brothers, wish to celebrate with her the way it should be, with cake and presents. They need help making that happen. You all know she’s 16, she left home on a cold, dark, stormy morning and that she took nothing with her. Nobody guessed she’d be gone for more than five weeks, she wasn’t prepared to be gone for five hours,” Serviss wrote.
She also noted that initially the family wanted to protect Trinity’s privacy and chose to withhold some personal information, but has chosen to release it now as it remains desperate to have her home safely.
“What they would like to share with you now is that Trinity is on the Autism Spectrum, she has specific needs,” wrote Serviss, who is Trinity’s educational assistant at school. “Understand that the authorities have known since the first phone call on Feb. 13, it was important that THEY know. By sharing this now, we’re hoping that people will understand how serious this situation is. This is not a textbook 16-year-old leaves home case.”
She also encouraged people to continue sharing Trinity’s story and pictures in the hopes that someone knows something.
“Pray she’s home to make a wish and blow out her candles,” she added.
A Go Fund Me campaign, authorized by the family, has also been started in order to raise money to help the family cover costs to continue the search. For more information or to donate visit https://bit.ly/2HOONjg.
