The Edmonton Police Service is continuing to seek the public’s assistance in locating a missing 40-year-old woman.
Jeannine Ermineskin, 40, was last in contact with friends and family on January 6, 2022, and is known to frequent central Edmonton. On March 17, 2022, the EPS issued a media release regarding her disappearance.
Investigators are again asking the public for assistance with any tips or information that will help them find Jeannine Ermineskin. In addition, the EPS has also partnered with Native Counselling Services of Alberta, REACH Edmonton and Crime Stoppers to launch a billboard with her name, photo and contact information for reporting tips.
“As we mark the third year since Jeannine Ermineskin was last seen, we are happy to collaborate with our partners at Native Counselling Services of Alberta, REACH Edmonton and Crime Stoppers to launch a billboard that will be seen by thousands of Edmontonians on a daily basis,” says Cst. Matthew Broadfoot with the EPS’ Missing Persons Unit. “We are hopeful that a member of the public will contact police with information that will assist us with our investigation.”

“This issue hits close to home, as Edmonton has one of the highest urban Indigenous populations in Canada,” says Lisa Kardosh, Director of Community Initiatives at REACH Edmonton. “In partnering with law enforcement and Native Counselling Services of Alberta on this billboard we hope to raise awareness not just about Jeannine Ermineskin, but to remind Edmontonians that Indigenous people remain at higher risk of going missing than the average Canadian.”

Ermineskin is described as an Indigenous female who stands 5’8” with brown eyes, long dyed blond hair, and thin build. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a red hoodie.
