For Immediate Release: 15-Apr-2025 @ 10:40 AM
MRU #: HR25004

In the interest of public safety, the Edmonton Police Service is issuing the following warning; Robert Edward Ventress (55) is a convicted s** offender, and the Edmonton Police Service has reasonable grounds to believe he will commit another s**ual offence against someone while in the community.

Ventress will be residing in Edmonton after he is released from jail where he has been in custody since 2024, and has served his sentence for failing to comply with a Probation Order. He is currently subject to a court order, with multiple conditions, and will be managed by the Behavioural Assessment Unit of the Edmonton Police Service.

Given Ventress’ criminal history with s**ual offences, child p**nography, and failing to comply with court ordered conditions, he is considered by police to be a s**ual offender who poses a risk of significant harm to the community, particularly to children accessed through relationships with adults.

Anyone with any information about Ventress’ behavior/conduct while in the community can contact the EPS at 780-423-4567.

The Edmonton Police Service is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community.
