A new documentary is shining a light on the long-unsolved disappearances of two London women, offering up new details on the potentially related cases of Kathryn Bordato and Shelley Desrochers.
The episode, part of Season 5 of the Never Seen Again series on the streaming service Paramount+, features interviews with Bordato’s son and daughter and Desrochers’ sisters and reveals a key link between the two women.
“I felt so grateful to just be able to have those conversations with Kathryn and Shelley’s family, and learn about the women,” said Serena Marotta, the writer, director and producer of the episode. “These were real women with lives and families and people who love them. They were very loved and certainly not forgotten by the people in their lives.”
Marotta is a Western University graduate and one-time Free Press reporter. She pitched the idea to the show’s lead producers. Filming in London unfolded over several days in December 2022 followed by writing and editing in early 2023.
The episode also features interviews with criminologist and author Michael Arntfield, London police investigators and Free Press reporter Randy Richmond.
The 22-minute show outlines three theories of the disappearances, revealing previously unreported details linking Bordato and Desrochers to the same man.
