Owen Sound police have confirmed the search for a missing girl that began on Saturday has ended after locating the body Sunday afternoon.
According to Police, at 1:10 p.m., members of the OPP located the body of the 16-year-old at the bottom of the Sydenham River, 100 feet west of Jubilee Bridge in Owen Sound.
Police say the death is being investigated, and there is no word if foul play was involved.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Owen Sound Police.

OPP divers will search for a missing 16-year-old girl this afternoon in Owen Sound, police said.
Police issued a social media plea Saturday for people to call them immediately if they saw the missing girl, Meredeth. Her family reported her missing about 12:30 p.m. in the area of the Jubilee Bridge, in the 400 block of 2nd Avenue East, a police news release said later in the day.
Police and city firefighters searched land and water in the immediate and surrounding area but didn’t find her. Police said her family members have concerns for her well-being.
Saturday afternoon two firefighters in a raft used long poles with hooks to probe the Sydenham River in the area of the Jubilee Bridge during the search. OPP divers will be searching the river there today, police said.
Police also continue to follow up possible sightings of the girl reported by the public. She’s described as about 5’ 5’’ tall, earlier described as 5′ 7”, 115 pounds with a thin build, long brown hair and glasses. She may be wearing a pair of grey jogging pants or pink rain pants as well as predominantly white running shoes with some green, police said.
