Cold Case – Help Us Find Lori Lee Berens

Lori Lee Berens, a 20-year-old Indigenous woman, disappeared from Winnipeg, Manitoba in January 1985. She was last seen leaving her home in the Maples area of Winnipeg following a reported family disturbance. The exact time of her disappearance is believed to be between January 14 and January 15, 1985.

Since that day, Lori has not made any contact with family or friends. No confirmed sightings have ever been reported. Her case remains open and is classified as an endangered missing person. Investigators have released very little information publicly, and no specific leads have surfaced over the decades. Despite the passage of time, Lori’s loved ones have not given up hope of finding answers.

Lori was described by those who knew her as a kind young woman who often wore her straight brown hair in a ponytail. She was of light complexion and was part of an Indigenous community, though the specific Nation has not been disclosed.

Lori Lee Berens, une jeune femme autochtone de 20 ans, a disparu de Winnipeg, au Manitoba, entre le 14 et le 15 janvier 1985. Elle a été vue pour la dernière fois quittant le domicile familial dans le quartier Maples à la suite d’une altercation. Depuis cette nuit-là, elle n’a plus donné signe de vie.

Il n’y a eu aucun contact ultérieur avec sa famille ni aucune observation confirmée. Très peu d’informations ont été rendues publiques sur cette affaire, et malgré le temps écoulé, le dossier reste ouvert. Lori est classée comme personne disparue en danger, et son dossier est toujours actif auprès du Service de police de Winnipeg.

Lori avait les cheveux bruns et lisses, souvent attachés en queue de cheval, et les yeux bruns. Elle avait une peau claire et était issue d’une communauté autochtone (Nation non précisée). Sa famille garde espoir, mais attend toujours des réponses après près de 40 ans d’incertitude.
