π¨ Missing Teen in Molson, Manitoba β Shane Olecka, 16, Last Seen December 2, 1979
On December 3, 1979, 16-year-old Shane Lynn Olecka was reported missing to the Beausejour RCMP after failing to return home from a rabbit hunting trip. Shane, an experienced woodsman, left his Molson, Manitoba home on December 2, 1979. He never came back, and worsening winter weather made search efforts extremely difficult.
Despite ground searches involving RCMP officers, a police dog, Canadian Forces members, and local volunteers, no trace of Shane was ever found. The official search was called off on December 8, 1979, but his disappearance remains an unsolved cold case. Foul play is suspected.
