📖 Background
Angela was raised primarily by her mother and stepfather, moving frequently throughout British Columbia and Alberta during her childhood. She attended high school in Trail, BC, where she reportedly began using drugs. After her family relocated to Surrey, she dropped out of school and became involved in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside sex trade.
Six months prior to her disappearance, Angela began living with her common-law spouse, who supported her efforts to leave street life behind. At the time, she was receiving welfare support and had recently been accepted back into school. By all accounts, she was in good spirits, motivated to move forward, and not considered a chronic runaway. However, she was allegedly being harassed by a former pimp who wanted her to return to sex work.
🕵️♀️ Disappearance
On August 19, 1994, Angela spent the day shopping with her partner and a male friend. After dinner, she was last seen boarding a bus alone to return to her Burnaby apartment. When her partner returned home later, he found unsettling signs: the apartment lights were on, a window was left open, and Angela’s purse, shopping bags, ID, and rent money were still inside the kitchen. Angela herself was gone, and she has never been seen again.
Her mother and grandmother, Margaret Kennedy and Pat Arseneault, believe Angela is deceased. Despite their fears, her case remains unsolved and open as a missing person investigation.
