Samuel was last seen on July 29, 1987, at a beverage room in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, according to the Prince Albert Police Service. At the time of his disappearance, he stood 1.83 meters (6 feet) tall and weighed approximately 91 kilograms (200 pounds). It is unknown what clothing he was wearing.
Samuel often traveled between the Big River area and Prince Albert. Since his disappearance, his case has remained open. Police are still actively working to determine what happened and to provide long-awaited answers to his family.

In September 2024, police announced that new information had come to light in this cold case, leading to a search on Big River First Nation. While details of the tip were not disclosed, the investigation was expanded to include RCMP specialized units and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services.

🔍 Efforts d’enquête
