Cochrane RCMP officials will be providing an update on yesterday’s report of a possible child abduction will be provided later this afternoon.
The matter has been turned over to the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit to investigate.
At 4:17 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, Cochrane RCMP received a report of a possible child abduction at the Willows playground.
A youth reported to parents that while at the playground they saw a child picked up from the sidewalk and placed into the backseat of a vehicle.
The parents of the witness called the police.
RCMP officers were visibly active in the area and around town following the report.
