Human remains retrieved from the St. Clair River have been identified as a 41-year-old Sarnia man who was reported missing last November.

Lambton OPP pulled a body from the water, between Mooretown and Courtright, on the afternoon of Thursday, June 15.

The OPP, along with the Sarnia Police Service’s Criminal Investigations Division, have identified the remains as those of Trevor William Morley-Wood.

A cause of death has not been released.

The OPP said extensive efforts were made in their investigation to find Morley-Wood, including the use of their dive team, and marine, canine and helicopter units.

They had help from the Sarnia Police Service’s Uniform Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division, Emergency Response Team, and drone.

Police said similar extensive efforts and resources have been used in two other missing person investigations in Sarnia.

Trevor Shawn Chaput, 34, and Dustin Alexander Ireson, 34, have still not been located.

They were each reported missing in 2022 in separate cases which police said remain open and active.

Anyone with information on any of these investigations is asked to call the Sarnia Police Service at (519) 344-8861 Ext. 0, Ext. 5300 or Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
