Published March 27, 2026
The two-month search for a missing Georgian Bluffs man has come to a tragic end. Grey Bruce OPP announced on Friday that search teams located the body of James Van Veen, 64, at the Inglis Falls Conservation Area shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
Background
Van Veen had been reported missing on January 26, 2026, after he failed to appear for a scheduled work shift. When conditions improved, the search resumed β and his remains were discovered shortly after.
Investigation
Police have stated that foul play is not suspected and have indicated no further information will be provided regarding the matter.
Acknowledgement
Grey Bruce OPP extended their thanks to the public, partner agencies, and the many volunteers who assisted throughout the search effort.
