π¨ Body of Missing Fisherman Lijun S. Found After Nearly Two Years β Saugeen Shores, Ontario
On January 27, 2024, the Saugeen Shores Police Service commenced a missing person investigation after Lijun S. failed to report to his family after fishing on the Saugeen River.
It is suspected that Lijun was swept away down the river in a large ice flow. Investigators utilized the Ontario Provincial Police Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and Emergency Response Team to assist in locating Lijun. Unfortunately, he was not located.
On November 15, 2025, human remains were located on the shore near a seasonal cottage on Saugeen First Nation. In coordination with the Ontario Provincial Police and the Centre of Forensic Sciences, the remains were positively confirmed through DNA comparison to be Lijun S.
