Police say the body of a missing 53-year-old Espanola man has been found just days after human remains were discovered in the northern Ontario town located 73 kilometres west of Sudbury.
Glenn Carmen Ward was last seen Dec. 9 walking down Queensway Avenue very distraught and confused. At the time, he was wearing a red bomber jacket and carrying a black duffel bag.
Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called to a wooded area off the same street in Espanola around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday after a member of the public came across the remains.
In a Tweet on Friday morning, OPP said the 53-year-old male from Espanola has been located deceased.
“No further details will be released at this time,” OPP said.
“OPP would like to extend their condolences to the family and a thank you to the public for their assistance.”
