Lambton OPP are asking for the public’s help identifying a man involved in what they are describing as a “possible attempted abduction.”

Police say a 13-year-old girl was walking on Whitehead Street in Clinton, north of London in Huron County, about 6 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle pulled over next her.

The driver of the vehicle then began complimenting the girl on her appearance, then asking the girl whether she was alone and if she wanted a ride.

Police say the girl refused the offer and walked away into a safe place, where she reported the incident to police.

Police are describing the suspect as a white man, between 30 and 40 years of age, with a bald or shaved head, blue eyes and a clean-shaven face. Police say the man was driving a dark grey, four-door sedan similar to an Acura, which was described as being clean and a newer model.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 519-524-8314 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
