The body of 55-year-old David Stares was discovered on Friday near Milestone, according to police.
RCMP Officers found Stares’ vehicle unoccupied, on a grid road in the Milestone area. His body was discovered in a nearby field.
Stares’ family has been notified, according to police.
Police and the Office of the Coroner are investigating the death, but they said it does not appear suspicious at this time.
Stares was initially reported missing by his family on March 24.
The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in locating an adult male who has been reported missing. Fifty-five year-old David William STARES is described as male, Caucasian, about 6’ 3” tall, weighing 230 pounds, medium build, with blue eyes, short grey hair, and glasses. It is not known what type/colour clothing STARES may be wearing
On March 24, 2019, the RPS Communications Centre police received a phone call from a family member of David STARES; the family member does not live in Saskatchewan. This family member expressed concern for STARES’ well-being, not having heard from him in some time. The caller asked police to try to locate him. Police went to his residence in the 2300 block of Ottawa Street, but found he was not at home. Since then, other efforts to locate David STARES have proved unsuccessful, prompting police to ask the public for help in locating this person or his vehicle. David STARES is known to drive a grey 2008 Toyota Yaris, SK license plate: 853 KIH.
