Monday marks the 13th anniversary of Luke Joly Durocher going missing in North Bay.

The 20-year-old from Quebec was visiting friends in the city of North Bay on March 4, 2011 when he disappeared.

After being turned away from a licensed establishment at the corner of Main and Wyld Streets in North Bay, Luke’s jacket, prescription glasses and cell phone were later found at the Sherbrooke Street residence where he had been staying.

“We always keep up the hope and the faith that one day we’re going to get an answer, but it’s been 13 years,” says Rob Joly, Luke’s father. “We’ll continue searching, talking and keeping the awareness out there.”

In recent years, he’s gone into the field with the private investigators from Pulse Private Investigations/Whereabouts Unknown as they interviewed tipsters and uncovered clues in his son’s case.

“Cases are solved when communities care and the community has embraced Luke as their own,” says Ellen White, Pulse Private Investigations’ Owner and Senior Investigator.

Joly says while they feel they’re getting closer every day to the answers they’re looking for, more information is still needed.

“We think that Luke’s case is a solvable one,” he says. “It’s unbelievable that it’s gone this long. I hope it doesn’t go another year. I’m reaching out to the public for our family and our well-being that we want to know what happened to our son and where he is.”

Anyone with information about Luke’s disappearance is asked to contact the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 or Pulse Private Investigations dedicated tip line at 289-975-0909.
