🚨 VPD News Release – VPD seeks to identify woman who died in shelter
VPD NEWS RELEASE
Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman who died last month after a week-long stay at a Strathcona shelter.
The woman, who provided the name “Lindsay” to staff, checked in overnight between December 20 and December 21. She stayed for seven nights and was discovered deceased in her bed the evening of December 27.
Shelter workers told police she spoke limited English and was not a regular visitor to the shelter, which is located on East Cordova Street.
The woman is believed to be Asian, between 65 and 75 years old. She was approximately 5’2” (1.58 m) and 110 pounds (49.9 kg), with short grey hair and distinct tattooed eyebrows.
Her death is not believed to be the result of a crime, and she does not appear to have been reported missing.
