Kamloops RCMP say a Vernon man who was reported missing Wednesday (May 12) has been found dead.
In a news release, RCMP spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says Tk’emlups Rural members responded to the report of a body found Thursday in the area of Kamloops Lake near Frederick Road.
The discovery came a day after police alerted the public that 21-year-old David Melanson of Vernon was considered missing.
Family members said that Melanson had left Hillside Psychiatric Centre early Wednesday morning.
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating.
