Vancouver Police are asking for help to identify a woman who died by overdose earlier this year, and have released pictures of distinctive tattoos with hopes that someone will come forward with information.

The woman was brought to St. Paul’s Hospital by EHS on the evening of January 19 following a drug overdose at the Hazelwood Hotel, near East Hastings Street and Gore Avenue. She died early the next morning and her death is not considered to be the result of a crime.

Hospital staff had no way to identify the woman and contacted VPD for assistance. So far, VPD investigators have also been unable to confirm her identity.

Investigators have spoken to staff at the Hazelwood Hotel and learned that she was not a tenant there, but that she may have used the first name “Kelly.”

Police believe the woman may have been between 25 and 40 years old at the time of her death, and may have been Asian or Indigenous. She was approximately 5’4″ tall and approximately 115 pounds, with short bleached-blonde hair and teeth that were visibly decayed. She had breast implants and distinctive tattoos on her left shoulder and lower back.

Anyone with information is asked to call 604-717-2530 or email vpd.missing@vpd.ca.
