🚨 Body Identified as Camila Mendoza Olmos, 19, in San Antonio, Texas – Found December 30 2025
Authorities have confirmed the identity of a body found near the home of Camila Mendoza Olmos, 19, who vanished on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, near San Antonio, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The remains were discovered on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, and the manner of death was ruled a suicide, the sheriff’s office said.
An open-field search led investigators to the body located “a few hundred yards” from Mendoza Olmos’ home, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said during a Tuesday afternoon news conference, adding that it was too early to identify the remains at the time. “The body had ‘indicators’ of self-harm,” he stated, noting that foul play was not suspected. Officials were preparing to announce that another missing teen had been found safe when a call about the body came in, Salazar said.
The search involved a joint force team of Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies and FBI agents, who revisited a previously canvassed area. “Due to high brush, we made a conscious decision to head back out there and check again,” he explained. The body was found about 10 minutes into the search on property belonging to a local landscape materials company, which expressed, “We are deeply saddened by the discovery and ask for privacy and compassion for all involved as this matter is handled,” in a Facebook post Tuesday evening. The company is cooperating with law enforcement.
Investigators had been searching for a missing firearm belonging to one of Mendoza Olmos’ relatives, and a firearm was recovered near the body, though it has not yet been processed, Salazar said. Dozens of volunteers assisted over the holiday, with the sheriff’s office warning she could be in imminent danger. Asked about this, Salazar told CNN on Monday, “there’s some information I can’t divulge … due to the sensitivity of it.” He added, “We consider imminent danger to be anything from self-harm all the way through someone actually kidnapping Camila, and all of those possibilities exist at present,” noting her prior mentions of suicide. “We can’t rule anything out at this point in the investigation.”
Community members, including her family, joined the effort. “I thought I would find her like other times, walking, and we would come home together,” her mother, Rosario Olmos, said in Spanish to CNN affiliate KENS. Her father, Alfonso Mendoza, told CNN affiliate KSAT, “I miss her. Daddy’s waiting for her at home.”
