The Timmins Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance with their investigation into a possible abduction of a young male person in Timmins.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018, at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Birch Street North near the Northeastern Catholic School Board building.
Witnesses report having observed a male person walking northbound on Birch Street North at the time of the incident. This pedestrian is described as being tall, with a slim build and wearing a dark jacket with his hood done up completely At one point a dark colored SUV, possibly a blue Kia Rondo with tinted windows, pulled ahead of the male and stopped ahead of him.
A passenger of the SUV, who is described as being a large framed Caucasian male with a significant beard, exited the SUV and walked aggressively towards the pedestrian and grabbed him by the neck. The suspect is alleged to have forcibly pushed the pedestrian down to the ground in a snow bank. At this point, a second vehicle attended the area.
This vehicle is described as an older, dark colored, 4 door passenger car, possibly a Kia Magentis. The driver of this second vehicle and the driver of the SUV exited their respective vehicles at the same time and joined the melee. The three male suspects forced the pedestrian firstly to the smaller vehicle, and then to the SUV. The suspects eventually placed the male in the back seat of the SUV. Occupants of both vehicles had been observed talking to each other prior to the alleged abduction.
