The Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance as officers continue to investigate a report involving a suspicious vehicle that approached a young boy around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.

Police learned the 10-year-old victim was playing hockey in a driveway on Cuthbertson Place when a vehicle drove toward him eastbound from Selkirk Street South. The car was driven by a male with a female passenger in the back.

The female passenger spoke to the boy from a rolled-down window and asked him about personal details.

The boy retreated toward his home.

The vehicle fled the area and was last seen pulling a U-turn and travelling westbound and then north into a laneway between two houses on the north side of Cuthbertson at the corner of Selkirk Street South.

It was dark at the time of the incident and the boy believed the colour of the car could have been an off-white, yellow or beige.

The female passenger is described as being Caucasian possibly in her 20s with a thin build. She wore a black hat or toque and a beige sweater at the time of the incident.

The male driver was described as having darker skin, a thin build and possibly being in his 30s. He wore a grey baseball cap and a large sweater at the time of the incident.

If you have any information that could assist investigators please call police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.p3tips.com.
