🚨 Suspicious Fire at Edmonton Home Connected to Missing Teen Samuel Bird
Police are investigating a suspicious blaze at a west Edmonton home that was previously searched in relation to the disappearance of 14-year-old Samuel Bird.
According to a late Monday news release, officers were called to a fire around 6 a.m. at a duplex near 150 Street and 106 Avenue. By Tuesday, police tape and missing posters for Samuel remained visible outside the scene.
“The residence is the same location where police conducted a search warrant in relation to the Samuel Bird investigation earlier this month,” police said. “At this time, it is not known whether the fire is connected to the Samuel Bird investigation; however, given the circumstances, it is being treated as suspicious.”
📌 Vehicle of Interest
Investigators have also released an image of a vehicle of interest, believed to be connected to the fire. The vehicle is described as a white cargo-style minivan with white window coverings.
📌 Ongoing Search for Samuel Bird
Samuel Bird was last seen on June 1, when he was expected to return to his west Edmonton home. His family and volunteers have conducted extensive searches in the city and along the North Saskatchewan River in the months since.
Family members have said he was dealing with mental health struggles and was lovesick at the time of his disappearance. They also believe he may have been influenced by friends they did not trust. Disturbing social media videos have circulated that appear to show Samuel being beaten, leaving relatives with little hope he will be found alive.

In July, the family and Indigenous groups began organizing their own searches, raising concerns about delays in the official investigation. On August 22, Edmonton police formally classified Samuel’s case as suspicious.
