Vancouver Police are looking for a man who apparently lured a six-year-old girl from a playground at a local elementary school and sexually assaulted her.
It happened on Wednesday, Dec. 5, near Sexsmith Elementary School on Columbia Street and W. 59 Ave. Police say a stranger took the girl to a nearby location, where she was assaulted before the man walked her back to school.
The suspect is described as a darker-skinned man, about 30 years old, with brown or grey hair. He was wearing grey pants.
Detectives from VPD Sex Crimes Unit are looking for dashcam footage from anyone who may have been driving in the area between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on December 5.
They are specifically looking for footage from the following area: West 58th Avenue along the north, West 60th Avenue at the south, Ontario Street to the east, and Cambie Street at the west.
