UPDATE:

The search for 21-year-old Aiden Waddle reported missing Nov. 10 enters its third day today.

Danielle Glover, Waddle’s cousin, said Terrace Search and Rescue arrived this morning and a drone operator from Burns Lake is now scanning the area around Kitwancool Lake for signs of the missing man.

She said they also anticipate the arrival of Canadian Rangers and a Nanaimo drone company, Hummingbird Drones.

Both Glover and the RCMP reminded members of the public in updates last night to check in with police or SAR before joining the search.

“The amount of volunteers and support has been truly amazing, we welcome more tomorrow,” Glover said.

They are also accepting donations of firewood, food, fuel, clothing and other items.

Waddle is described as a Caucasian male, 175 cm (5′ 8″) tall, 84 kg (185 lb) with brown hair and hazel eyes.

A search is underway for a kayaker reported missing in the Kitwanga area.

According to the Kitwanga and Area Facebook group, 21-year-old Aiden Waddle went missing on Sunday (Nov. 10). Social media posts say his truck and kayak have been found.

New Hazelton RCMP confirmed they received a report of a missing person on November 10.

Cpl Madonna Saunderson said it was reported that an adult man had gone kayaking alone on Kitwancool Lake and had not returned.

She said RCMP, local search and rescue groups and volunteers have been searching for the missing man since Monday morning.

His cousin Danielle Glover is out helping with the search and said so far they have come up empty-handed.

“We just went in the other side of the lake and went all the way down still no word yet,” she said. “We have multiple crews trekking through the bush from shore to the old road in behind looking for any sign of him.”
