On August 11, 2022, Shaunavon RCMP, with the assistance of Saskatchewan RCMP General Investigation Section, executed a Search Warrant on Benjamin Martin Moore’s residence. Police officers located and seized three cross-bows as well as multiple arrows and arrowheads.

On August 26, 2022, Saskatchewan RCMP investigators charged Benjamin Martin Moore with one count of Breach of a Weapons Prohibition Order, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

This is the second charge being laid against Benjamin Martin Moore in Canada as part of the Saskatchewan RCMP investigation that began in early August 2022. On August 9, 2022, Saskatchewan RCMP investigators charged Benjamin Martin Moore with failing to report information to a registration center within 7 days after a change of main or secondary residence, as required by the Sex Offender Information Registration Act, contrary to section 490.031 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Benjamin Martin Moore will face these charges upon his return to Canada after being released from custody in the United States.

The extradition of Benjamin Martin Moore from the United States to Canada is not being considered at this time as police investigations in both countries are ongoing.

Currently, Benjamin Martin Moore and his common-law partner remain in custody in the United States. Requests for information regarding Benjamin Moore and his common-law partner’s arrest, charges or length of stay in the United States need to be addressed to United States authorities.

Saskatchewan RCMP General Investigation Section has carriage of the investigation into both the allegations against Benjamin Moore in Canada and the events leading up to his departure from Canada with his common-law spouse and two children.

Privacy provisions prevent us from sharing information about the children. We can confirm they are safe and are receiving proper supports.

We cannot discuss any further the details of this ongoing investigation. We are committed to providing updates regarding this investigation as they become available.
