Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers responded Thursday morning to a report of possible human remains located at the site of a new housing development near the east-end golf course, off Stavanger Drive and next to Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove.
The province’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified the remains as Miller.
“The RNC sends sincere sympathies to family and friends as they navigate this tragic loss,” Const. James Cadigan wrote in a media release late Friday afternoon.
Miller’s cause of death is still under investigation, but police say foul play is not suspected at this point.
Police say area residents can expect to see police in the area throughout the weekend as the investigation continues.
