The West Shore RCMP is currently investigating a report of an attempted abduction that took place in the parking lot of Shoppers Drug Mart (West Shore Town Centre), located at 300-2945 Jacklin Rd in Langford.

On November 14th between 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. a 17-year-old female was leaning into the back seat of her own vehicle when a male suspect approached her from behind and shoved her fully into the back seat and closed the door.

Another male suspect then approached the vehicle and attempted to gain entry to the driver’s side door while the victim was inside the car. The victim reacted quickly and hit the lock button on her key fob preventing the male from entering her car. A young male bystander witnessed this incident and shouted at the males who then left on foot headed around the side of Shoppers Drug Mart toward Kelly Rd.

Suspect #1 Description:

Male with darker complexion in his late 20’s- early 30’s
approximately 6’-6’2 tall
wearing dark colored pants and dark colored hoodie
possible Tattoo on one hand/wrist in the pattern of swirls
facial hair, beard

Suspect # 2 Description:

Male with darker complexion in his late 20’s- early 30’s
wearing dark colored pants and dark colored hoodie
facial hair, beard

“We would like to make the public aware of this as it is a concerning investigation into an attempted abduction. We have had no similar complaints of this nature, we believe this incident is isolated. The investigation is ongoing, and police would like to speak with the bystander who scared away the suspects. If you were in the area at the time and witnessed this crime take place, or you have possible dash camera footage that captured this incident please call the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.
