🚨 Police Dog Teams to Assist in New Searches for Missing Children in Nova Scotia — Lilly and Jack Sullivan
Police dog teams trained to detect human remains will be deployed in upcoming searches for Lilly and Jack Sullivan, two siblings who vanished more than four months ago in Pictou County, Nova Scotia.
The RCMP confirmed that additional searches are planned, but did not release specific details such as the timing or exact locations, citing investigative concerns and officer safety. Officials have also noted that specialized police dog service members will be speaking publicly about how their dogs are trained for these types of searches, though the unit itself is not directly leading the Sullivan case.
Lilly, 6, and Jack, 4, were reported missing on May 2, 2025, after they wandered away from their family’s rural home in Lansdowne Station. The area is heavily wooded, and extensive search efforts have been underway since that day.
The investigation has already involved hundreds of volunteers, police personnel, and search experts from across the region. In addition to ground and aerial searches, investigators have administered polygraph tests and examined items such as a pink blanket believed to belong to Lilly for forensic evidence.
Despite the massive effort, there has been no confirmed sign of the missing children. Their family continues to hope for answers as authorities prepare to expand search efforts with the assistance of specially trained dogs.
