UPDATE:
The search for a missing youth on a lake in Pictou County has ended in tragedy.
RCMP divers located and recovered the youth’s body around 7:45 p.m. Friday.
The young kayaker went missing in Eden Lake around 5 p.m. Thursday.
Police said two youths known to each other were paddling on the lake in separate kayaks, when one overturned and became submerged.
Several ground search and rescue teams, along with a DNRR helicopter, RCMP air services and the underwater recovery team were on the scene.
Investigators said criminality is not believed to be a factor in the incident.

Police and other agencies are searching for a youth who is missing after falling into the water while kayaking Thursday at a lake in Nova Scotia’s Pictou County, according to RCMP.
An RCMP spokesperson said in an email Friday the search is at Eden Lake, which is about 30 kilometres southeast of New Glasgow. The spokesperson did not give the age of the person.
The spokesperson urged people not to go to the area to allow searchers to do their work.
