RCMP in New Brunswick are turning to the public for help in identifying two people allegedly involved in an attempted abduction.
On Saturday, police released a composite sketch of one of the individuals believed to have been involved. The alleged incident took place on April 21 on Route 710 in the Henderson Settlement area.
Police said around 5:15 p.m. that day, two people approached a child who was riding a bike and tried to lure them into their vehicle by offering candy. The child then ran to a neighbouring house.
RCMP said the two individuals left the scene in a black four-door Subaru, possibly an Outback, with tinted windows, a sunroof and signs of rust of the front passenger bumper.
Police describe the driver as a woman with light-coloured shoulder-length curly hair.
They describe the passenger as a man, possibly in his mid-30s, with a muscular build, goatee with no mustache and curly hair. Police said at the time of the incident, he was reported to have been wearing blue sunglasses and a green T-shirt with yellow on it.
The sketch shows what appears to be a man with curly hair and a beard.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the person in the image or who has any information on this incident to contact the Sussex RCMP at 506-433-7700.
