🚹 Murder Case of 9-Year-Old Melina Frattolin Moves to Grand Jury – Montreal Girl Found Dead in New York

The murder case against the father of 9-year-old Melina Frattolin, a young girl from Montreal whose body was found in a shallow pond in Upstate New York, will proceed directly to the grand jury stage.

The Ticonderoga, N.Y. court and the district attorney’s office confirmed that the felony hearing originally scheduled for Friday has been cancelled. Instead, a grand jury will review the prosecution’s evidence to determine whether there is probable cause to indict Luciano Frattolin for the murder of his daughter.

Frattolin, 45, has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse. He had initially reported Melina missing and possibly abducted, but police later deemed that report to be false.

According to preliminary autopsy results released earlier this week, Melina died from asphyxia due to drowning. Her death has been officially ruled a homicide.

This tragic case continues to unfold, with further legal proceedings expected to follow the grand jury decision.
