🚨 Moncton RCMP Investigating Suspicious Death – Woman Found in Garbage Bin on High Street
Police in Moncton, N.B., are investigating the sudden death of a woman whose body was found inside a garbage bin. Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a sudden death on High Street around 12:10 p.m. Sunday. “When police arrived, they located a woman deceased outside in a garbage bin,” RCMP Cpl. Hans Ouellette confirmed.
“At this time, police are treating the death as suspicious in nature, and the NB RCMP Major Crime Unit is investigating.” An autopsy has been scheduled to confirm the woman’s identity and determine her cause of death.
“Further questions surrounding what led to the death are part of an ongoing investigation,” said Ouellette. No arrests have been made at this time.
The RCMP also conducted an operation on Norwood Street in connection with the investigation early Monday morning. Police said Moncton residents may continue to see investigators on both High and Norwood streets as they continue their investigation.
Ouellette said police don’t believe there is any link between the woman’s death and the inmate who escaped from a jail in Shediac last week. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit.
