🚨 Missing Woman – Jennifer Catcheway, 18 – Last Seen June 19, 2008 – Portage la Prairie, Manitoba
Jennifer Leigh Catcheway, an 18-year-old woman from Skownan First Nation, disappeared on her 18th birthday – June 19, 2008. Her last known communication was a phone call to her family that morning, confirming she would be home for her birthday party. That call was later traced to Grand Rapids, Manitoba, over 400 km from her home in Portage la Prairie.
Jennifer was seen leaving Portage la Prairie with her uncle, Charles Parenteau (38), and cousin, Shawn Catcheway (28). She was reportedly seen at a house party on the Dakota Tipi First Nation. Charles claimed he later dropped her off near the Waterhen Junction on Highway 6. Both men were arrested but released without charges. Charles was later murdered in 2015.
Despite tireless efforts by her family, especially her mother Bernice Catcheway, Jennifer has never been found. Her disappearance remains one of Manitoba’s many unresolved cases involving Indigenous women and girls.
