Update – On May 4, 2023, searchers located the body of missing person, Catherine Dumas, in a wooded area in Muskrat Bay, in Split Lake. The cause of death has yet to be determined and an autopsy will be conducted.

On May 3, 2023, the Thompson RCMP received a report about a missing 42-year-old woman, Catherine Dumas. She was last seen in the Muskrat area of Split Lake on April 27, 2023, at approximately 6:00 am. Catherine is described as 5’7″ in height, weighing 175 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes.
Concerns have been raised regarding her well-being, as she is believed to be disoriented. Searches are being carried out by the Split Lake Fire Department and community volunteers in the Split Lake area, as Catherine is known to frequent Thompson and Split Lake.
