🚨 Missing Teen Mother in Winnipeg, Manitoba – Mackenzie Sinclair, 17 – Last Seen Oct 6, 2025
Seventeen-year-old Mackenzie Sinclair of Poplar River First Nation disappeared from the lobby of the Norwood Hotel in Winnipeg at about 9 p.m. on October 6, 2025, the night before her 15-month-old son’s scheduled eye surgery at HSC Children’s Hospital. Her family says the disappearance is out of character and that she had been looking forward to her son receiving care.
Mackenzie had travelled with her mother, Deborah Bittern, and her child from their fly-in community (about 450 km north of Winnipeg) with travel and lodging arranged through Manitoba Health. According to her mother, Mackenzie went downstairs from their room and did not return. A selfie taken in the hotel elevator earlier that evening is believed to be her last known image. A missing-person report was filed on October 10.
The Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit has now assumed the investigation and added Mackenzie to the national CPIC database. The family has thanked community volunteers, including Bear Clan Patrol. Mackenzie’s mother has expressed safety concerns about the hotel and is seeking support to continue searching in Winnipeg. APTN News reports that the hotel states it has not been contacted about a missing person and that it has 24-hour security and camera surveillance; Manitoba Health had not responded to questions about accommodations at time of publication.
