On January 13, 2024, at approximately 5:53 p.m., Linda Diane Albert was reported missing to Powell River RCMP. Diane is a 68-year-old Caucasian female, and is described as being about 5’2 tall and having brown hair and blue eyes. Diane was last seen by friends on January 6 in Powell River, but has not been heard from since.
On January 15, a resident of Powell River located a vehicle registered to Diane Albert on the trail to Fairview Bay and Rainy Day Lake, near Saltery Bay, while hiking in the area. Powell River Search and Rescue and the RCMP Police Dog Services were called in to conduct a search in the area, but nothing of significance has been located. The search is currently suspended due to inclement weather, but will resume when conditions allow.
