🚨 Missing Girl – Tammy Nattaway, 16 – Last Seen July 14, 2020 – Garden Hill First Nation, Manitoba
Tammy Nattaway was a quiet, respectful, and kind 16-year-old girl from Kistiganwacheeng (Garden Hill First Nation), Manitoba. Known for her love of reading and her dream to one day become a dentist, Tammy was a bright and hopeful young woman whose sudden disappearance devastated her family and community.

🔍 Investigation and Community Response
Initial reports stated that Tammy may have traveled to nearby communities such as St. Theresa Point or Wasagamack. However, no sightings were confirmed and she had not been active on social media. Despite early RCMP statements suggesting no foul play, the RCMP Major Crime Services later confirmed that investigators do now suspect foul play in her disappearance.
“We have received and followed up on numerous tips and have interviewed more than 100 people as part of this investigation,” said Sgt. Gary Bird of the RCMP. RCMP also confirmed that underwater recovery teams were deployed, helicopters were brought in, and cameras were used to search waterways. Investigators also completed a thorough review of all air passenger manifests to ensure Tammy had not left the remote fly-in community by plane.
In August 2020, RCMP stated their belief that Tammy was likely still within the Island Lake region, but noted that there was a remote possibility she could have traveled to Winnipeg. As time passed without any confirmed sightings or new leads, the investigation intensified, but the trail has remained cold.
In addition to police efforts, the community has shown extraordinary dedication. Over 300 volunteers assisted the RCMP with ground and water searches. Tammy’s family has never stopped looking for her. “We’re still looking. We’ve been going day and night,” said Garden Hill First Nation Chief Dino Flett. Despite tireless efforts, no significant leads have emerged.
“She was timid. She wouldn’t run off,” said Tammy’s mother, Cecile. “We knew something else was going on.” Her grandmother, Lena Harper, echoed the family’s plea for justice, stating: “We want answers. We want justice. We will never give up looking for her.”
A $5,000 reward is being offered by Garden Hill First Nation for any information that helps bring Tammy home. “Someone must know where she is or where she went,” added RCMP Sgt. Paul Manaigre. “We need them to come forward and help.”
