Today, the RCMP NL Underwater Recovery Team located the vehicle belonging to missing man Charles Jerrett in the water off a wharf in Brigus. Mr. Jerrett was found deceased inside.
He was reported missing on Friday, March 24 and was last seen at approximately 11:00 a.m. that day at his home on Beaver Pond Road in Brigus. Upon receiving the report, Bay Roberts RCMP immediately initiated search efforts, engaging neighbouring Detachments and Traffic Services East, and pursued multiple investigative avenues to locate Mr. Jerrett.
The RCMP thanks the Brigus Fire Department, Avalon North Wolverines Search and Rescue and all who assisted in the search efforts. We extend deepest condolences to the Jerrett family.

The RCMP is continuing efforts to locate missing man 87-year-old Charles Jerrett of Brigus, who has not been seen since approximately 11:00 a.m. yesterday (March 24, 2023) at his home on Beaver Pond Road in Brigus.
He is 5′ 9″ tall and weighs 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket and khaki pants. He is balding, uses a cane and is hard of hearing.
When he departed his home yesterday morning, he was driving an orange Chevy Sonic, NL licence plate # HWJ 019. He was headed to the local post office but did not return home. He did not take his cell phone with him.
Police have searched known routes of Mr. Jerrett and followed up on all leads and reported sightings, in addition to other investigative avenues. At this time, there have been no confirmed sightings of him or his vehicle. See pictures attached.
