🚨 Missing Boy in Burnaby, British Columbia – Kai Pavlovic, 11 – RCMP Release New Photos and Renew Plea for Information
Police in British Columbia continue to search for Kai Pavlovic, an 11-year-old boy missing from the Burnaby area since late September. The Burnaby RCMP has renewed its plea for public assistance, releasing new photos and a heartfelt statement from Kai’s family in New Zealand.
Authorities first received a request for a wellbeing check on September 26, 2025, and determined that Kai may be staying with a caretaker. However, investigators have not yet identified who this caretaker is, prompting an expanded appeal for information from the public.
“We believe there are people who know who this caretaker is, and where they are located, and we are appealing to them to come forward and speak to police,” said Cpl. Laura Hirst. “Our number one priority is to find Kai and confirm his safety and well-being.”
Investigators are also asking anyone who may have interacted with Kai in recent weeks — including parents of children who play with him, as well as coaches, instructors, or others involved in his activities — to contact police. Officers say they have been working “non-stop” to locate the boy, using multiple investigative techniques to help move the case forward.
📌 Family’s Appeal
Kai’s family, who live in New Zealand, issued an emotional statement describing him as bright, kind, and full of curiosity:
“Kai is a bright, curious, outgoing and kind little boy who loves to climb trees, build forts and learn to sail. He is a friend to all animals and particularly adores horses, cats and dogs. Kai’s family in New Zealand love him dearly, and they are asking anyone with any information on Kai’s location to please immediately contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999.”
Family members say they are deeply concerned for Kai’s wellbeing and continue to travel between New Zealand and Canada to assist in the search. They have also created a Givealittle fundraising page to support travel and search costs.
