A 60-year-old man who was reported missing on a Saskatchewan highway has been found dead.
RCMP began a search for Jack Crouch after he was reported missing around 3 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 15 between Kenaston and Watrous. Police reported at that time that Crouch had gone missing after the vehicle he was in got stuck in the snow.
In an update issued Wednesday evening, police reported that a Civil Air Search and Rescue Association plane spotted what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle shortly after 1:30 p.m. along an unmaintained road in the Kenaston area. Searchers in the plane also saw what looked like a body about a kilometre away from the vehicle, police said.
Officers on the ground were later able to confirm that the remains at the scene belonged to Crouch.
Police reported that further investigation revealed no signs of physical trauma. A search of the vehicle turned up no signs of criminal activity.
