A Langley RCMP spokesperson has confirmed that a minivan found on a remote Harrison-area road Sunday (Oct. 27) belongs to an 82-year-old woman who was reported missing over the weekend.
Mounties in Langley appealed to the public Saturday for help in locating Jane Whitehouse, who was reported missing Friday. She was last seen at approximately 10:10 a.m. Friday morning in Aldergrove. She is described as Caucasian, 5’1″, 140 pounds, medium build, with grey-blonde hair, and was last seen wearing a green jacket. She was driving a grey Dodge minivan with BC license plate CP6 01A.
An individual named Alfred Fuchs posted on Facebook Sunday that a minivan was located stuck in a washout up East Harrison Road, adding that the road has eroded. Fuchs said police had been notified with the exact location.
“I can confirm that the vehicle that you are referring to is associated to Jane Whitehouse,” Corporal Zynal Sharoom told Fraser Valley Today in an email Monday. “At this time Jane is still missing, and we are continuing to search for her. Search and Rescue and our partners from the Agaasiz RCMP remain in the area and are currently assisting with the search efforts. As soon as I have any further updates I will be issuing an updated media release.”
Social media groups in Agassiz, Chilliwack, Harrison Hot Springs and across the Fraser Valley lit up Sunday night after this minivan picture began circulating.
