After more than a year and a half, a missing woman from Quebec has been found in the city of Windsor.
Longueuil police said Jame-Laura May, who is now 26, was located Friday by police officers in Windsor, where she had taken refuge under a false identity. The officers were able to identify May when they noticed one of her tattoos.
Police said she had been using a well crafted fake ID, which one of her associates is known to produce.
According to media reports in Quebec, May was watching a film at a theatre with her mother when she disappeared on October 13, 2018. Police said at the time of her disappearance that she was a frequent runaway during her teenage years.
There has been a concern for May’s because she had been living under a forced mental health order at the time of her disappearance and did not have her medication.
Police said having her home now, safe and sound, is a relief for her family and loved ones.
