Ontario Provincial Police say officers located human remains on the weekend near Temiskaming Shoresafter receiving a call.
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, the discovery was made in the Township of Harris, a town with a population of just over 500 people in the Timiskaming District.
The identity of the body has not yet been confirmed and a post-mortem examination will happen at a later time.
“There are some missing persons cases in the area that are still unsolved. Until we get a post mortem and identification on a person we will be able to provide information at that time,” said OPP Const. Jennifer Smith.
