🚨 Halifax Man Charged with Child Luring Following US Tip
DARTMOUTH, NS – June 2025 — A man from the Halifax region is facing multiple serious charges, including child luring, after police were alerted by the U.S. National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The tip, received on May 21, 2025, alleged that the suspect had been using social media platforms to engage in inappropriate conversations with a 10-year-old girl living in the United States. The investigation determined that the online communication began in January 2025, through platforms such as Snapchat and Slowly.
Investigators say the suspect pretended to be a 15-year-old boy and went further by mailing the child handwritten letters and gifts.
This case involved international cooperation between the Halifax Integrated Child Exploitation Unit and the Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center in Wisconsin.
On Thursday, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where they seized multiple electronic devices and firearms. The suspect was arrested at the scene without incident.
