Friends and family of a missing Nanaimo woman are pleading for information about her.
The mother of 47-year-old Jennifer Willoughby reported her missing in September after not hearing from her since August.
The woman’s mother has been putting up posters and says it’s completely unlike her daughter not to be in touch for this long.
Police say they’ve been trying to track Willoughby down since issuing a missing person’s release on Sept. 25.
This week police say they have information she was in Nanaimo as of Oct. 7, though they haven’t found or spoken with her yet.
Her mother says she’s worried for her daughter’s safety.
“We think something has happened and she does not feel safe in her town, so I’m worried sick,” said Teresa McGown, her mother.
Long-time friend Martina Buch is also worried. Buch flew over from the mainland for this interview hoping it would help find the woman who she’s called a friend since Grade Seven.
“Please, we just want to know you’re safe, just want to know you’re OK. You’re not in trouble,” said Buch.
Willoughby is described as 5’4″, 141 pounds with blue eyes and sandy brown hair.
If you’ve seen her or have any information on where she might be call Nanaimo RCMP.
